L'attuale formazione dei Flotsam And Jetsam è composta da Knutson, supportato dal duo chitarristico composto dal co-fondatore Michael Gilbert e da Steve Conley, dal batterista Ken Mary (Alice Cooper, Accept) e dal bassista Bill Bodily.
Il nuovo album dei Flotsam And Jetsam segnerà i 40 anni dal debutto della band, "Doomsday For The Deceiver".
"Rats In The Temple" si apre con i ritornelli e la precisione di "Harvesting The Hate" e "Damnation", seguiti dal thrash metal di "Absolution". Le chitarre di Michael Gilbert e Steve Conley caratterizzano "Blame The Knife", la title track, "The Ghost Behind My Door" e "First On The Spike", unendo lo stile della prima ondata a sonorità moderne. Dopo la suspense di "The Edge Of Nowhere" si passa a "Last Rites". Il batterista Ken Mary e il bassista Bill Bodily guidano l'inno contro la guerra "A Taste For War". Il disco prosegue con le armonie medievali di "Her Blood Your Pain", il ritmo serrato di "Anthem For The Broken" e i riff di "Going Down That Way", confermandosi un lavoro vario e ricco di sfumature.
